Enrollment Information

Enrollment at New Jerusalem Elementary School falls into two categories:

In-District Residents:  For those families that live in our district (see district map), you simply need to come to our office and enroll.  Please bring proof of residency, shot records and birth certificates to help make the enrollment process as quick as possible.  If you have a child that will be kindergarten age next year, please let us know as soon as possible (up to one year prior) that your child will be attending New Jerusalem.

Out of District Residents (for kindergarten only):  For those families that do not live in our district and have a kindergarten student the process has a few more steps.  First, you need to make an appointment with the principal or superintendent to visit the school and discuss the reasons for requesting enrollment at New Jerusalem.  Second, you will need to obtain an “Inter-District Agreement” from the district office of the school district in which you live.  For most districts this is merely a formality and rarely are they denied.  If we have room in the kindergarten class this process could be as quick as two days.  We will place students on a waiting list if the kindergarten class is full.

For Out of Destricts Residents (grades 1-8): As a charter school we offer enrollment to all residents in counties contiguous to San Joaquin County; proof of residency is needed to verify this. Enrollment is contingent on classroom space and must be preceded by filling out an Intent to Register form and attending a scheduled meeting with the school principal or district superintendent. If there is no room in the class you are seeking, your child will be placed on a waiting list until a spot opens up.
